Business Controller, Americas

UPM Raflatac is looking to recruit a

Business Controller
 
to be responsible for providing analytical and proactive Business Control services to the Business Unit. You will work with Group and regional Finance organizations to comply with and contribute to company policies and procedures. An understanding of business drivers, needs and processes to identify opportunities and challenges is a must.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Participating in and coordinating the strategy, target setting and budgeting processes, including primary annual processes as well as quarterly updates 
  • Completing a relevant analysis of company performance and providing consultation to business leaders. (Analysis should include early alert and interpretive information to support effective business decision-making.)
  • Providing support to manage and control costs, material efficiency (waste, claims and second quality) and working capital
  • Ensuring the accuracy and correctness of the generated transactional financial data of the Business Unit
  • Managing financial forecasting, fixed cost, working capital and cash flow budgeting process
  • Supporting the profitability analysis process for investments
  • Acting as a liaison between the Business Unit and Financial Shared organization; as well as between the Business Unit and global Finance organization
  • Managing local internal control and some risk management processes
  • Preparing P/L analysis for specific products and product groups
  • Preparing profitability analysis by customer or combined customer/product analysis
  • Supporting the sales function with accurate and current pricing (product costs) and advising of any potential contractual issues
  • Acting as primary SAP Finance key user
  • Implementing monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting processes
  • Oversight of credit controlling, dunning and credit limit updates
  • Ensuring the accuracy of asset valuation and that the depreciation policies are followed (stocks, bad debt reserves, etc.)
  • Serving as primary liaison between the company and auditors (both internal and external)
  • Group reporting is made in multinational environment according to IFRS-standards (International Accounting Standards) using SAP finance modules and other reporting tools 
  • Working according to company values, enabling organizational and team success
  • Performing all duties in full compliance of all laws, safety and environmental regulations and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures

Our expectations from you are:

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field and 5-7 years of responsible Management Accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • CMA certification (preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to adapt to and learn automated accounting software systems
  • Previous experience with SAP Finance and Cognos PowerPlay reporting tools is strongly desired
  • Self-motivation with the ability to adapt effectively to changing demands of a growth-oriented, dynamic organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to relate well with a diverse constituency
